Betty G. Ashworth, 84, of Cabot, PA, formerly of Penn Hills, died August 28th at Concordia Retirement Community.  Born March 13, 1933 in Washington, PA, Betty was the daughter of the late Nelson and Hazel Griest, wife of the late Robert Ashworth, mother of Scott (Linda) Ashworth of Gibsonia, PA, with two granddaughters Kendall and Austen, and Julie Beth Ashworth of Dallas, TX., with one granddaughter Kelly.  Betty grew up in Washington, PA, graduated from California State Teacher’s College, (now California University of PA,) and taught elementary education in Washington, PA and North Allegheny School District.  She met Bob at California STC and were married for 62 years.  Bob and Betty were born-again Christians and members of Allegheny Center Alliance Church.  Betty was a skilled quilter with national recognition.  The family has chosen to have a private service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Concordia Employee Appreciation Fund.  Checks can be mailed to 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA  16023.
