Doris E. Atkinson, 86 of Cabot passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born September 29, 1929 in Marwood, PA, she was the daughter of the late O.J. Nicol and Bertha (Gaulke) Nicol.

She worked as a secretary for Patterson Auto Parts and Davis Furniture. Doris was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, where she was an active member of the choir. She enjoyed traveling and she loved her cats.

Surviving are her husband, Clair F. Atkinson, who she married October 14, 1950, her son, Dennis Atkinson of Pittsburgh, her daughter, Donna Atkinson of Butler, her grandsons, Michael (Eowyn) Atkinson of Highland, NY and Jonathan Atkinson of Pittsburgh, her sister, Jeanie (Dale) Koegler of Cranberry Twp., PA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, George Nicol and Gerald Nicol.

Friends will be received on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg.

Services will follow at 8 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating.

Interment will be held in St. Luke Cemetery, Cabot.
