Joyce I. Freehling, 85 of Saxonburg passed away on May 12, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born February 9, 1932 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Mabel Darling Eckel Zaccari.

Joyce was a graduate of Butler High School. She was a cafeteria worker for Saxonburg Elementary School, retiring after 39 years. She was a member of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church. Joyce enjoyed word search puzzles and playing bingo. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are daughter, Debra (James) Bartley of Saxonburg, son, Gary Freehling of Cabot, sister, Beverly (Bill) Wissinger Lockhaiser of Saxonburg, 4 grandchildren; Kimberly S. (Christopher) Lunn of Saxonburg, Corry Alan (Melissa Mohan) Freehling of Valencia, Brandy (John) Spohn of Butler, and Aleshia Drewencki of Orlando, FL, 5 great grandchildren with 1 great granddaughter on the way; Gavin Roger Freehling, Levi Michael Freehling, Brady Christopher Lunn, Dylan Charles Lunn, and Sadie Ellyn Lunn.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard G. Freehling, infant son, Bernard Freehling, son, Roger Alan Freehling, her grandmother who raised her, Ida Darling, and a great granddaughter, Daphne Lunn.

Friends will be received on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:30 am at the funeral home with Rev. Douglas Dorsey officiating.

Interment will follow in Saxonburg Mem. Church Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Helen McClafferty, Doris Becker, and Dr. Surrenda Sethi and his office staff. They've gone above and beyond with care and compassion for our mother.
