Robert R. Lewis

Robert R. Lewis, 96 of Sarver passed away on July 29, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born March 31, 1920 in Cabot, PA, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Wilda (Hesselgesser) Lewis.

Robert was a staff sergeant in the US Army during WWII. He served in the infantry in France and spent 24 months in the Phillipines. He worked for Penn Dixie as the chief chemist for 43 years. He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 683. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoyed gardening and outside chores and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma (Stout) Lewis, daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Patterson of LA, Kim (Larry) Micohn of OR, and Marcy (Tom) Canel of Saxonburg, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Private interment with military honors will be held at the Sarverville Cemetery.
