Warren R. Capenos

Warren R. Capenos, 80 of Sarver passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Born June 28, 1937 in Sewickley, PA, Warren was the son of the late John Adolph and Evelyn Pearl (Hague) Capenos.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Mary (Knott) and a brother, John (Anna) of Pennellville, NY. He is survived by a sister, Carol (David) Bowman of Plano, TX. He had four children, Steven (Pamela) Capenos of Beavercreek, OH; Michael (Jeanie) Byerly of Winchester, VA; Kathleen (Timothy) Barrett of Yorktown, VA; and Kimberly Capenos of Tyrone, PA. He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and had a special, faithful friend in Barbara Vogel of Butler.

Warren graduated from Ambridge High School in 1955 and then served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1960-1966. He worked for many years at the S.S. Kresge Company and the Kmart Corporation from which he retired from after 30 years as a District Manager. He has served on the Board of Municipal Authority of Buffalo Township; as President of Wall Rose Mutual Insurance Company; a 40 year member of the Armstrong Masonic Lodge #239 in Freeport; Shriner President of Caravan #14; Past President of Butler County Chamber of Commerce; Past United Way Board Member; 30 year member of the Butler Private Industry Council, now known as Tri-County Workforce Investment Board; Past Member of the Allegheny Valley Hospital PULSAR Board; Member of the Fraternal Order of Police; Member of the NRA; and a 71 year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, of which he was a four time chorus world champion. Warren was a dedicated volunteer fireman from the age of 14 until his death.

Viewing will be from 1-3 pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg, PA. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3 pm. Burial will take place Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wexford.
