Emma Dyan Macurdy, 88 of Cabot passed away on September 21, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born December 31, 1929 in Winfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Brozenick.
She worked for Moonlight Mushroom Mine. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sarver. Emma loved cooking, baking, crafts and animals including hummingbirds. She played the organ and was very skilled at crocheting. Emma was a very devoted Christian woman who helped and participated with children and the Sunday School program.
Surviving are sister, Jennie Owens of California, brother in law, Glenn (Darlene) Macurdy of Cabot, sisters in law, Sandra (Robert) Stivenson of Saxonburg and Janet Macurdy of Butler, close niece, Laneice (Daniel) Olesnevich of Butler, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odley G. Macurdy, who passed away on July 31, 2015, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg.
Services will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sarver with Pastor Shawn Smith officiating.
Private interment will follow in Sarverville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rainbow Animal Rescue Program, Lyndora, or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sarver.
