Fredrick C. "Fred" Fritch, Jr., 84, of Cabot passed away peacefully on November 14, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries surrounded by his five loving daughters.
Born August 5, 1934 in Natrona Heights, PA, he was the son of Fredrick C. Fritch, Sr. and Helen Hughes Fritch.
Fred worked as a truck driver for local trucking companies, was a welder at Pullman-Standard for 13 years, was a Farrier for 52 years and farmed all his life.
He was a life time member of Zion U.M. Church in Sarver, also the American Farrier's Association, National Rifle Association, Odd Fellows and Saxonburg Sportsmen's Club. Fred took great joy in farming. He enjoyed attending Friday night races at Lernerville Speedway. Fred's favorite pastime was socializing at restaurants, sharing his life stories with his many friends and anybody who would listen.
Surviving are his daughters, Cynthia Wells of Erie, Cheryl Hoover of Erie, Carmel (Robert Tinney) Loucks of Conneaut, OH, Carla Fritch of Sarver and Loren (William) Rimmel of Ford City, 2 sisters, Phyllis Shick of Cabot and Beverly (Jack) Doerr of Sarver, 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Robert Taylor) and Megan Wells, Jeremy and Daniel Hoover, Chelsea Loucks, Carson Fritch, Ashley, Katelyn, Bethany and William, Jr. Rimmel, 2 great-grandchildren, Devin Wells and Olivia Stonewall, son-in-law Joe Loucks of Edinboro and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister, Sara F. Dolmayer, brothers-in-law, Raymond Shick and Michael Dolmayer and son in law, Russ Hoover.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 2-6 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Services will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 1:00 pm at the Zion U.M. Church, with Rev. Robert Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
