Jerald R. Purcell

Jerry Purcell (B. March 20, 1953) of Cabot, Pennsylvania went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 1. His death was unexpected and sudden. His family and friends grieve his passing, but we do not mourn in vain. Jerry knew that his only comfort in life and in death was in our faithful savior Jesus Christ. In this moment of loss, we too cling to the comfort and hope that is found in Jesus. It is our hope in Jesus that allows us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord (Psalm 100) and to praise the Lord with music (Psalm 150) because we know that death does not have the last word.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Margie of 44 years, his three sons and their families including 6 grandchildren, and his parents, brother and sister.

Jerry dedicated 38 years of his life to Penn United Technology. When he retired 2 years ago, he was the Executive Vice President of Operations. Even after retirement he continued to serve as a member of the board of directors for Penn United Technology and for Truefit. In addition to his work, his love of music benefited many, faithfully serving multiple churches as a director of music. He also performed with a number of musical groups over the years: The Lindamens, Psalm 150, Jubal, Kerygma, Praise Maker, Surrender, Aslan's Shadow, Folk Hammer, Off the Record, Street Level and most recently Stoneground.

In lieu of flowers his wife asks that donations be made to the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), a campus ministry based in Pittsburgh that Jerry avidly supported.

Visitation will be held at Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot, on Sunday Aug 5 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 1-2 pm. The memorial service will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. at Cabot United Methodist church.

Deliveries can be made at Cabot United Methodist church Saturday between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, Sunday from 11 to 11:30 a.m., and Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
