Alverda Swartz Obituary

 Alverda Jean Swartz, 90 of Cabot passed away on  January 31, 2023 at  Concordia Lutheran Ministries. 
 
 Born October 31, 1932 in Winfield Twp., she was the daughter of Thomas "Skinny" Allison  and Florence (Morris)  Allison
 
 Alverda worked at the mushroom mine and also tended bar. She was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and loved to knit, crochet and make afghans for all her family members. Alverda loved traveling with her husband, playing cards and enjoyed their camp at Smith Grove. She also enjoyed a nice glass of wine.
 
 Surviving are husband, Richard R. Swartz whom she married February 21, 1979, her son, Richard (Rhonda Sue) Swartz of Sarver, her daughters, Deborah (Dave) Coward of Freeport and  Margaret Swartz of Butler, her sister, Mary Jackson of Bradenton, FL, nine grandchildren,  Hollie (Jeremy) Oesterling, Brooke (Tom) Arble,  Stacy (Kim) Koedel,  Tommy Wright,  David (Renee) Swartz,  Jason Swartz,  Sophia Swartz, Vincent Braden, Jr., and Brandy Braden, also six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Tom Wright, one sister, Dixie McDermott, three brothers- in-law, Gene Jackson,  John Heim and Donald McDermott, and  2 nephews 
 
 There will be no visitation or services.
 
 Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
