Anita Gail (Bailie) Whiteman, 58, of Cabot, passed away on June 8, 2023 surrounded by her family and close friends at her home after a courageous year-long battle with brain cancer.
Born November 14, 1964 in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of Jack Bailie Sr. and Jane Armitage Bailie.
Anita was a graduate of Deer Lakes High School class of 1982. She went on to earn her bachelors degree at the University of Pittsburgh and her master's degree from Chatham University.
Anita's career at UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital spanned over 25 years culminating in her position as the Senior Director of Diagnostic and Ambulatory Services.
She enjoyed Tang Soo Do, hiking, vacationing and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, David Whiteman, who she married May 28, 2022, her mother, Jane Bailie of Creighton, her son, Bailie Nowak of Cabot, daughters, Kayla (Erek) Bylinowski of Cabot and Karli (Nick) Szweda of Seven Fields, 4 grandchildren, Sophia and Gabriel Szweda and Avery and Amelia Bylinowski, step son, Luke Whiteman of Valparaiso, IN, her brother, Jack (Nancy) Bailie Jr. of Creighton, nephews, Andy (Emily) Bailie and their children Aiden and Riley and Brett (Emily) Bailie and their son Colt, and her lifelong friends, Debbie Gould, Suzan Hensel and Kim Close.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Bailie Sr. and lifelong friends Laurie Wolfinger and Susan Waugaman.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Main Street, Saxonburg with Rev. Douglas Dorsey officiating.
