Beverly Shimkus Obituary

Beverly J. Shimkus, 81 of Delmont passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. 
 
 Born December 1, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hines and Carrie Jane (Jones) Hines.
 
 Beverly was a graduate of Perry High School. She retired from Giant Eagle Corporate, where she worked in the merchandising/produce department. She was a member of New Life Christian Ministries, where she was an active volunteer in many church activities. Beverly enjoyed butterflies, vacationing at the beach, and going to camp with her sons and their families. She was an avid St. Patrick's Day enthusiast and also enjoyed attending Steeler games with her best friend, Carol.
 
 Surviving are her sons, Bruce (Kimberly) Houck of Export and Todd (Jodi) Pangallo of Delmont, 7 grandchildren; Amberley, Bruce, Ryan, Jordan, Nathan, Rylie and Tyler and 5 great-grandchildren; Andy, Parker, Luke, August and Palmer Jane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Shimkus and her brother, Jack Hines. 
 
 A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11 am at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:30 am at New Life Christian Ministries, 139 Knoch Road, Saxonburg with Rev. Chris Marshall officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. 
     
 Memorial donations may be made to New Life Christian Ministries, 139 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, PA 16056.
