Carl F. Harvey

 Carl F. Harvey, 90, of Sarver passed away suddenly on May 29, 2024 at his home.
 
 Born August 9, 1933 in Sarver, he was the son of Chester Harvey and Glenna Hunter Harvey.
 
Carl graduated from Freeport High School in 1951.  He worked his early years for Walters & Haas before working for Dravo Construction of Pittsburgh in the building of the Saxonburg Sintering plant.  After that, he became a contractor, building apartments and houses in 1960.  He continued building houses and developing and buying farms and developing lots.  He built around 150 homes and apartments in the Sarver and Saxonburg areas.  In 1980 he opened Harvey's Colonial Colony, caring for 39 elderly patients for 8 1/2 years before retiring in 1988 and started spending winters in Bradenton, FL.  He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sarver. 

Carl enjoyed car cruises and car shows, having owned Nash Metropolitans, a Rolls Royce, a Bentley, a Zimmer and a rainbow colored PT Cruiser.  

He is survived by his wife Janie, his son, Dan, his daughter Carla, two grandchildren, a brother, Chester, one sister, Delores and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Wendell and Harold and two sisters, Renie and Joyce. 
 
There will be no visitation or services.  Interment will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
