D. Maxine Wetzel, 87, of Saxonburg passed away on April 28, 2022 at the Magnolia Place of Saxonburg.
Born February 9, 1935 in Sarver, she was the daughter of Lonnie R. Staley and Florence Staley.
Maxine worked as a mine clerk for Beth Energy Mines and a bookkeeper for the Saxonburg Ambulance. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver. She enjoyed baking, reading, corresponding with friends and family, spending time with her granchildren and especially her great grandchildren.
Surviving are sons, Jeffery A. (Marcia) Wetzel of Saxonburg and, Daniel L. (Jenny) Wetzel of Columbia, SC, her grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) Wetzel, Ben (Sarah) Wetzel, Cory Wetzel, Shawna (Jake) Neel and Justin Wetzel, 2 great grandchildren, Madison and Hudson Wetzel, three sisters-in-law, Violet Wetzel, Jean Wetzel and Alda Barr and her special cousin, Bob and Cindy Lang.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Wetzel, whom she married on May 14, 1955 and passed away on December 6, 1996, her sister Nancy (Howard) Halstead.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 4-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, 11:00 am at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Sarver, with Rev. Robin Swinsburg officiating.
Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
