Dave Swaney

 Dave Swaney, 66, of Butler passed away on  April 17, 2026 at the Butler Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer. 
 
 Born January 15, 1960 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of William J. Swaney and Mary Lou Schneider Swaney. 
 
 He worked as a service tech  for Opta until his retirement. Dave loved spending time with his family and his grand babies, who called him Bubba. He enjoyed working on his stockcar as Bill's Crew Chief, he also enjoyed watching Steelers Football, and spending time with family at the lake.
 
 Surviving are his wife, LaVonne Swaney whom he married November 6th 1993; his children, Joshua  (Rachel) Swaney of Butler, Bill  (Akron) Swaney of Saxonburg, Natalie (Tyler) Byers of Butler, Monica  Swaney of Butler; four grandchildren, Kenley, Jayce, Serena, and Levi; his siblings, Mary Jo (Jon Sorbo) Phillips of Valencia, Jack Swaney of Mars and Jill  (Patrick) Ellenberger of Indiana, PA.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
 
 Friends will be received Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-7:30 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc. in Saxonburg with a funeral service following at 7:30 pm with Rev. Jonathan Fehl officiating.
