David W. Durst

On November 2, 2021, David W. Durst entered into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. David was born on August 28, 1931 in Grantsville, Maryland but currently resided in Cabot with his devoted wife of 70 years, Janet (Clowes) Durst. He was the son of the late Andrew Durst and Carrie D. Durst.

David had been a member of the United States Air Force and a Korean War Veteran. As a young man he was self employed sawmiller and enjoyed working on his son-in-law's sawmill as he got older. David retired from Magnetics in East Butler after 35 years. David was an avid storyteller and a true friend to everyone that he met. Some of David's favorite hobbies were playing guitar and beating family and friends at cards.

David Wakefield Durst will be missed by his wife, Janet (Clowes) Durst. Also surviving are his four children, Mark (Vickie) Durst of Sarver, Michael Durst of Colorado Springs, CO, Bruce (Terry) Durst of Sarver and Karen (Bill) Jones of Cabot, and 9 grandchildren; Ian (Kristen) Durst of Kittanning, David Durst of South Carolina, Richard (Gina) Durst of North Versailles, Kiel Durst of Virginia, Carrie (Kody) Baum of Kittanning, Shawna (Will O'Brien) Durst of Cabot, Jacob (Olivia) Jones of Cabot, Hannah (Parker) Fisher of Maryland, Bethany (Jake Lydick) Jones of Cabot and two great grandchildren, Logan Durst and Elsie Durst.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonita Myers of Salisbury, MD.

Friends will be received on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 12-2 and 4-6 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg.

A funeral service will follow at 6 pm.

Private interment will be held at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Sarver.
