Dolores Koegler, 87, of Saxonburg, passed away in her sleep on March 16, 2023. She was surrounded by family during the evening and then surrounded by the Heavenly Hosts who welcomed her home. She got her wish to die at home, and had been living with her daughter for the past year.
She was born July 14, 1935 at home in West Winfield. She was the daughter of John "Jack" Clowes and Harriett (Barnes) Clowes.
Dolores had worked at Nationwide prior to her marriage. She was a stay-at-home mom until her husband Gerald passed away in 1980. She then went to work at Concordia Home and eventually got hired at the Saxonburg Library. She loved that job and the many people she served and the life long friends she made.
She enjoyed building puzzles, playing cards with family and friends, reading, and crocheting. Family was very important. She loved all the family gatherings. She enjoyed the vacations Tom took her on with his family and all the bus trips she took with her friends. Going to "Ding Land" (local casinos) was also something she enjoyed doing occasionally. She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Hannahstown.
Surviving are her daughter Donna (Corky) Buckham of Butler, two sons, Ray Koegler of Saxonburg and Tom (Debby) Koegler of Sarver. Her brother, Reuben Clowes of Cabot, her sister, Janet Durst of Cabot, her sister-in-law Pearl Clowes of Cabot.
