Donald K. Greger of Saxonburg passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023.
Born in Ellwood City on July 31, 1934, he was the son of Frederick and Louise (Konnerth) Greger.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and attended Thiel and Geneva Colleges. He was an Army veteran having served in the 3rd amour division from 1955 to 1957. He worked for U.S. Steel as an accountant for over thirty years and was a union representative and president of Local 7693. After retiring from U.S. Steel, he worked for various auto dealerships as a salesman and manager. During the 1970's, he was an executive advisor for Junior Achievement. He was a well known and accomplished drummer in many dance bands in the 1960's as well as a drum instructor for marching groups. He was a fan of all sports and enjoyed reading, golfing, traveling, and dancing. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Butler.
His is survived by his wife, Martha "Marti" (Anderson) Greger, whom he married June 6, 1959. Also surviving are his children, Don Greger and his wife Cindy, Shari Greger (formerly McGrew) and her special friend Ron Smith, Lisa Fiore and her husband Pat and eight grandchildren, Malia (Greger) Edwards, Don Jr. and Justin Greger, Alex and Shannon McGrew and Kristen, Ryan and Anthony Fiore and one sister, Virginia Bailey and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg, PA.
Services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11 am at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
