Edna M. "Honey Mae" Collings, 83, of Tarentum, passed away on August 9, 2024 at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries after a lengthy illness.
Edna was born May 22, 1941 in Sarver, she was the daughter of Harry Young and Elizabeth Wetzel Young.
Edna graduated from Freeport High School in 1959, then she went on to study accounting at New Kensington Commercial School. She worked and retired as a bookkeeper for Paul & Paul P.C. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Tarentum.
Edna was passionate about her family. She looked forward to weekly Sunday dinners and "pop in" visits from them throughout the week. She enjoyed going shopping, having lunch and spending time with her best friend and sister, Carol, who moved in to care for her prior to her admission to Concordia.
Surviving are three sons, Daniel (Billie Jo) Collings, David (Rebecca) Collings and Dennis (Carrie) Collings, her grandchildren, Janie (Armando) Spataro and Zachary Collings, 3 great grandchildren, two brothers, Edward (Judy) Young and Leroy (Cheryl) Young and her sister Carol Nemo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daniel P. Collings, Sr. on February 24, 2017 and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Nemo
Services were private at Edna's request.
The family would like to extend their gratitude for the compassion and care the staff at Concordia Cabot has given our Mom.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Staff Appreciation Fund at Concordia Lutheran Ministries 134 Marwood Road Cabot, PA 16023.
