Evelyn Irene Longdon

Evelyn Irene Longdon, 86, of Saxonburg passed away on March 15, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born September 11, 1931 in Saxonburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Siebert Eckel, Sr. and Esther Smyers Eckel.

Evelyn attended Bakerstown United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and wife who was known and loved for her kind and gentle spirit.

Surviving are daughters, Beverly Longdon (Joe) of Valencia, PA, and Barbara Stone (Curt) of Colora, MD, sons, Robert Longdon (Tina) of Americus, GA and Bobby Longdon (Kayla) of Clarksville, PA, sisters, Dolores Hickey of Saxonburg, Marie Riggs of Butler, and Kathy Marsh of Mars, PA, daughter in law, Irene Longdon of Sarver, 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Longdon, Jr., son, Ivan "Butch" Longdon, III, sisters, Alice Sterling, Mildred Stiffy, and Esther Peth, and brother, Siebert Eckel, Jr.

Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8 at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg.

Additional visitation will be Saturday March 17, 2018 at the Bakerstown Methodist Church from 1:00-2:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Swineford officiating.

Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
