Franklin D. Petrilla, 90, of Saxonburg, formerly of Apollo, passed away on October 1, 2024 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Frank was born February 14, 1934 in Kiski Twp., he was the son of George Petrilla and Katherine Byers Petrilla. He graduated from Apollo High School in 1952. He then served in the US Army from 1954-1962.
Frank was self-employed, having owned Frank's Construction for 50 years and had also worked for Met Life. Frank was a devout Christian and was of the Methodist faith. He was very active in church, having served in various capacities. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Coudersport Consistory. Frank was Past President of the Western Wheelers and Dealers Square Dance Club. He enjoyed squared dancing, camping and was an avid Steelers fan.
Surviving are wife, Peggy Lou Petrilla, whom he married August 26, 1988, two sons, Frank W. (Kelly) Petrilla of Apollo and Randy (Sue) Petrilla of Apollo, his daughter, Nancy (Roger) Baker of Freeport, two sisters, Donna Stone of Apollo and Faye Klingensmith of Connecticut, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews, cousins and his dachshund, Maggie.
He is preceded in death his parents, his first wife Sylvia White Petrilla, six brothers, Charles, George, John, Ralph, Robert, Daniel, and six sisters, Alice, Margaret, Sophie, Kate, Ann ,Sara Jane
Private services were held at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc. in Saxonburg. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery in Apollo.
