Gary Robert Welsh, age 79, of Saxonburg, passed away on August 21, 2024, as a result of an accident. He was born May 6, 1945, in Penn Township to George Francis Welsh and Carroll Perry Welsh.
Gary had worked at Armco for 38 years, retiring in 2003 and was currently serving as the president of the Saxonburg Village III Homeowners Association. Gary enjoyed tractors and farming, boating, camping and traveling, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. Gary was a skilled craftsman, having built his back patio and barn. He was a loyal and genuine friend, always available to listen and help. He was a true patriarch to the family with a compassionate ear, wise words of encouragement and a wonderful sense of humor. Gary loved everyone so well.
Gary will be greatly missed by his wife, Andrea "Pidge" Welsh, his son, Gary Welsh of Sarver, his daughter, Robin (Dennis) Lisac of Raleigh, NC, his three grandchildren, Lucas, Malyn and Calvin, his sister, Margaret (Edward) Fabris of California, his brother, Roger (Jeannie) Welsh of Penn Township, one stepsister, Carol (Bob) O'Donnell and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Wholeben, and brother-in-law, Gary Marmo, of Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Fran Welsh, one step-brother, Jack Gush, and a step-sister, Marilyn Marmo.
Family and friends will be received on Monday August 26, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Doug Dorsey officiating,
Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
