Gerald P. McDermott, 64, of Butler passed away on June 18, 2026 at the his home due to a medical event.
Born March 17, 1962 in Butler, he was the son of Gerald A. McDermott and Eda M. McDermott.
Jerry was a 1981 graduate of Knoch High School and then later Ohio Tech. He worked for Swank Construction as a diesel mechanic, truck driver and a heavy equipment operator and as a mechanic for PMF Rentals. Jerry enjoyed building mechanical models and was an unexplained phenomenon enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife and best friend Wendy McDermott; his brother, Karle Anderson; three nieces, Jennifer (Kevin) Morgan;Kelly (Greg) Jerry and Victoria Hatfield-Anderson and their children, Jake, Parker, Kaden, Kendyll, Keegan, Adeline, Paxton and Wyatt.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Melanie Anderson.
Friends will be received on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 6-8 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, 11:00 am at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA, with Rev. Jonathan Fehl officiating.
Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
