Henryka Augustina Lazarcik, 72, of Sarver passed away on April 7, 2022 at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
Born October 26, 1949 in Hawlowicz, Poland, she was the daughter of Kazimiez Wankowicz and Stefania Mazur Wankowicz.
Henryka lived a rich life full of love, spirituality, and kindness. A devout Catholic, she regularly attended Mass. She devoted her life to raising her family. She never let anyone go hungry and had the ability to produce a three course meal, seemingly out of thin air. Her specialties included pierogi, soups, and various desserts made from scratch (just don't ask her for the recipe, as she was a gifted cook guided by "feel", not a cookbook.) She had a knack for knowing what someone needed. She was especially talented with children and the elderly. Henryka had a playful spirit and was always up for a game of 500 Rummy, painting bird houses, or putting a blanket over her head to become a big ghost, while playing with her grandchildren.
Henryka enjoyed to travel with her family, taking trips to Florida and Europe. What she enjoyed most, was spending time with friends and family. Her spirit made an incredible impact on this world, and many are grateful to have fond memories of their time with her.
Surviving are her son, Gabriel (Emily) Lazarcik, M.D. of Freeport, her daughter, Stephanie (Brandon) Hughes of Butler, her mother of Poland, one brother, Andrew Wankowicz, of Poland, two sisters, Christina Podlewski and Diane Oblozo, of Poland, and 4 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel Lazarcik, on June 28, 2021, her father and one brother, Edward Wankowicz
