Ila Roberts Obituary

Ila Rose “Grammy Rose” Roberts went home to be with the Lord peacefully at her residence April 1, 2026,  surrounded by her loving family at her bedside-just as she had done for so many others throughout her life.

Rose dedicated 25 years of service to Saxony Health, where she earned the nickname “Sarge,” a reflection of her strength, compassion, and leadership. She spent her life caring for others, always putting everyone before herself.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas “Tom” Roberts of Butler; her mother, Dorothy Fahringer; her father, John Fahringer Sr. of Michigan; her brother, Ronald Fahringer Sr. of Butler; and her siblings Joyce (Donald) Eminger, Phyllis Fahringer-Hayes, and John Fahringer Jr., all of Michigan.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 amazing years, Neal Thomas Roberts; and her three children, Tina (David) Schmidt of Butler, Neal (Joanne) Roberts Jr. of Sarver, and Michael “Bubba” (Corie) Roberts of Freeport.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Crystal (Joseph) Petrovich, Christina Prioletto (Mike), Jason Roberts, Devin (Karolyn) Schmidt, Bethanne Roberts, Shayla Roberts (Jake), Cheyenne Roberts (Kirkland), Journie Dick, Austin Dick, John (Brittany) Fahringer II, and Natalie (Brock) Simpson, Laz Vesztergom, Nichole Vesztergom.  She was also blessed with 21 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Grammy Rose had a heart as big as her kitchen. She loved cooking for everyone and never knew how to make a small meal-no one ever left her home hungry. She cherished camping, spending time building race cars with her son, and caring for those she loved. She adored her dog, Killer, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures-especially camping, lottery tickets & BINGO.

She will always be remembered for the loving words she shared so often:
“I need a coffee.”
“Have you ate?”
“Let me know when you make it home.”
“How’s the kids?”

Rose's strength, love, and selflessness touched everyone who knew her. Her legacy of care, laughter, and unconditional love will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc. in Saxonburg
