James A. Murdock , 86 of Butler passed away on January 20, 2026 at the Embassy of Saxonburg.
Born August 3, 1939 he was the son of Lee Murdock and Blanche Jones Murdock.
James served in the US Navy. He worked as a local union construction laborer. He was a member of Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, the Masonic lodge 502, and of the Lyndora American Legion Post 117. He enjoyed helping with the boy scouts, he was an avid hunter and shooter. He loved the blues, reading and sitting on the back porch.
Surviving are his children Wendy Murdock, Renee (Lou) Donatelli, Meghan Pohl, Josiah Murdock, Sister Karyn Ward, grandchildren Jessica Fortino and Fiona Pohl, Sister-in-law Pat Murdock, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Murdock, his parents and one Brother William Murdock.
A memorial service will be held Thursday February 12th, at 11:00am at Thorn Creek U.M. Church 142 Rockdale Road Butler PA 16002 with Rev. Todd Ciarimboli officiating.
