Jean S. Garrett, 83 of Butler passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 At Concordia Fox Chapel.
Born November 13, 1941 in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of John Dolan and Frances (Georgopolis) Dolan.
Jean worked at the G. Fox & Company Dept. Store in Ct., Travelers Insurance where she was a secretary, and she also worked as a salesperson for Montgomery Wards in Butler for 13 years. She was a member of Hannahstown Baptist Church serving with VBS, Jr. Church for 25 years, Visitation program, and Ladies Missionary Society. She is also a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she was in the chorus. In her younger years in Connecticut, she enjoyed tap dancing, ice skating, visiting the ocean and serving for Junior Achievement.
Surviving are her husband, Leslie Garrett whom she married July 15th 1967, her children Joel Garrett of Katmandu Nepal, Benjamin (Courtenay) Garrett of Gibsonia, PA, her siblings John (Nina) Dolan of Weathersfield, Ct., Joseph Dolan of New York City, NY, Cathy (John) Persson of Glen Ellyn, IL, Ann Marie (Don) Sataline of Berlin, CT, and 6 Grandchildren, Austin, Nathan, Caitlyn, Jane, Josiah, and Joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, half brother James Dolan, and her daughter in law Jenny Garrett.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 15, from 4:00-7:00pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Services will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor John Barkley officiating.
Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
