Jerry R. Berger, 75, of Cabot, passed away on January 11, 2025 at the Butler Memorial Hospital
Born October 30, 1949, he was the son of James R. Berger and Mildred Morrison Berger.
Jerry proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam as a Reconnaissance Specialist (11D), where he received the Purple Heart and was a Bronze Star Recipient.
He was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Church.
Jerry was the owner of Berger's Market in Saxonburg for many years and had worked at Family Toy Warehouse, Dollar General and Dollar Tree. He had a love for service and country, Steelers football and his golden retriever, Stryker.
Surviving are his two sons, LTC Jay (Kelli Weleski) Berger of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, and Joel (Fiancee Rachel Nill) Berger of Bellefonte, PA; 3 grandchildren, Lani, Jace and Nella Berger, and his long-time companion, Laurie Coury.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, 11:00 am at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA, with Rev. Doug Dorsey officiating.
Jerry will be interred with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
