John Christie Sr.

 John Albert Christie Sr., 90 of Butler passed away on February 22, 2026 at the Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. 
 
 Born December 3,1935 in Madison OH, he was the son of Raymond Christie and Julia Adams Christie. 
 
 John proudly served his country in the US Army. He worked as a Laborer for US Steel and was a deputy constable for Winfield Twp in his earlier days. He enjoyed bowling, bingo, shuffleboard, and loved spending time with his family. John had spent 38 years in Florida after his retirement.
 
 Surviving are his wife, Hilda Shively Christie of Butler, children; Norma "Gege" (Ron Kern) Christie, Kathleen Smith, Linda Smith, David Christie, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son John Christie Jr., two stepsons: Steven Hesidenz, and Michael Hesidenz, and six siblings
 
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
