Joyce Watson Lauric, 69 of Butler passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at The Orchards of Saxonburg after a long battle with cancer.
Born April 2, 1952 in San Antonio, TX, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Morgan Watson Jr. and Lyle Louise Brooks Watson.
Joy will be remembered as a determined woman who worked hard as a plumber, yet expressed beauty in painting and playing the piano. Joy was the first female plumbing inspector in Allegheny County. She was a member of the Saxonburg Art Show. Joy enjoyed fishing, boating, painting, and most of all, she dearly loved her husband, Bob and favorite dog, Buddy. Those who knew Joy will never forget her humor and laugh, which she used as her strength until her last day.
Surviving are her loving husband, Robert James Lauric, who she married August 1, 1988, her stepson, Bobby Lauric and his wife, Jen of Camp Hill, PA and their children, Ethan Zoe, Kolton, Jasmine, Lyric, and Priscilla, her stepdaughters, Cherie River of Pittsburgh, and her children, Victor, Sophie and Rosie, and Laura Srocki and her husband Walt of Pittsburgh and their children, Veronica, Kenny, Sydney, Harrison, Tessa, Sarah and Mia, her brother Richard Lane Watson and his wife, Joyce of Washington, PA, and her sister in law, Donna M. Watson of Washington, PA. Also surviving are her nephews and families whom she was very close with, Douglas Watson and his wife Melissa and their children, Bailey, Emma and Adam Watson, Mark Watson and his wife Rena and their children, Wesley and Lily Bea Watson, and Richard Watson and his wife Marissa and their daughter, Morgan Watson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held in May for family and close friends.
