Leona Barnes

 Leona G. Barnes, 92, of  passed away on  January 20, 2024 at  Concordia of Fox Chapel. 
 
 Born June 24, 1931 in Cabot, she was the daughter of August  Freehling  and Nora Watson Freehiling
 
Leona was a member of Zion Community Methodist Church in Sarver.  She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and at the polls.  She was also an auditor for Winfield Twp..
 
 Surviving are her children, Douglas (Norma) Barnes of Chambersburg, PA,  Janine Cypher of Chicora, and Tracy Rieder of Chicora, two granddaughters, LeeAnn Fuhrer (Brad) and Ashley ((Alex Lefever)) Rieder, and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Emma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene "Shorty" Barnes on May 8, 2003 and 10 brothers and sisters.
 
 There will be no visitation, funeral services will be private. 
 
 Interment will be in the Zion Church Cemetery
