Lewis E. "Gator" Gates, 81, of Cabot passed away on April 18, 2024 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 21, 1942 in Knox, PA, he was the son of Lewis Gates and Jenny Elder Gates.
Gator had worked as a truck driver for several area trucking firms and most recently a courier for Butler Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, his dog Tiny and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Larry (Brenda) Huffman of Saxonburg, Cathy (Matt) Stewart of Natrona Heights, Beverly Hawk of Saxonburg, Kelley (Tom) Carr of Boyers, Lisa Padilla of Texas, his sisters, Nancy McClain of Ohio and Mercedes Perrine of Grove City, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Velma Gates, one daughter, Tina Wentling, two brothers, Harry Gates and George Gates, and one sister, Kathryn Welder
There will be no visitation or services. Gator's wishes were that his body be donated to science.
