Marion Evelyn Painter, age 91, of Cabot, PA, died Friday, May 23, 2025, at Concordia of Cabot, PA.
Born in Trafford, PA on August 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Hegland) Farrow.
She was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly loved and enjoyed her family. Upon graduation from high school Marion worked as a secretary for Westinghouse. She married Earl D. Painter on June 13, 1955, and they shared a full life for 61 years until Earl passed away on March 20, 2017. She spent much of her adult life in Maryland and Virginia. In 1993 she returned to Pennsylvania and made Valencia her home. In her early years she was an accomplished ceramist, bowler and snow skier. Her love of travel took her to over 15 countries. She was a roller coaster enthusiast visiting Kennywood regularly for 80 years. Marion also enjoyed reading, puzzle building, coloring and going to flea markets. Trips to the casino with her family and friends always brought a smile to her face. In addition, she loved games, and The Game Show channel was her favorite. Marion attended Glade Run Presbyterian Church where she volunteered for South Butler Community Meals on Wheels until the age of 90.
Surviving are her brother, James Farrow, children, Val Joe (Deanna) Painter of Fairfield, PA, Sue (Denny) Denmead of Washington, PA, and Floyd (Laura) Painter of Butler, PA, her grandchildren, Danielle, Grady, Adam, Grant, Brad, Jenny, and Steven, and her great grandchildren, Ethan, Kherington, Clare, George, and Lincoln. And in addition, her beloved cousin Joyce Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sisters, Audrey Hreha and Donna Stetar.
Friends will be received Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 10-11:30 am, with a funeral service following with Pastor Andrew Smothers officiating at Fox Funeral Home 410 W Main St, Saxonburg, PA.
Interment will follow at Glade Run Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South Butler Community Meals on Wheels (1091 Pittsburgh Rd. Valencia, PA 16059) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
