Mary Jane "Murt" Wise, 87, entered into eternal life on November 22, 2021. Her sweet spirit is carried on by her husband, three sons, whom she affectionately referred to as the "three wise men", six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister and an extended family of relations and friends.
We were blessed by her stories of growing up at the United Presbyterians Orphan's Home in Mars, her time spent at Penn Township High School, her love of square dancing and her travels to California.
She enjoyed creating photo albums, gardening, and serving as a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 34. Murt never said a mean word about anyone. We will continue to love her potato salad, strawberry Jell-O salad, and her Christmas candies and caramels.
We will cherish the time spent with her around the farm's kitchen table - either gobbling leftovers after an evening of picking potatoes in the upper field, playing cards and Yahtzee, or piecing together a challenging jigsaw puzzle.
Murt loved like Jesus. As a member of Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, she shared her alto voice during numerous hymn sings and cantatas. She also loved helping the Sisters in Christ with the church's Lenten luncheons and spaghetti dinners.
She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren whose photos she would share with those to came to visit the farm; Richard "Dick" Wise, Rick (Vicky) Wise, Doc (Debbie) Wise, and Mark (Kristi) Wise, grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Wise, Lisa (Chris) Still, Chad Wise, Brian (Hannah) Wise, and Lindsey and Brooklyn Wise; great grandchildren, Clifford Still, Sierra Wise, Dottie Still and June Wise; sister, Betty Casper, brother in law, Harry Burtner, and sister in law Patricia Taylor.
Murt is now rejoicing with Jesus, her father, Dallas L. Taylor, Sr., her mother, Anna Taylor Greene, her step father, Hershel E. Greene, and siblings, Dallas Taylor, Dale Taylor, and Jennie Lee Burtner.
A private extended family visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 5-8 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11 am at the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church with her Pastor Mary Jo Gould and Pastor Larry Thompson officiating. Everyone please meet at the church.
