Maybelle Hassler, 97, of Butler passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, while in the loving care of her son Rick.
Born September 10, 1927 in Tarentum, PA, she was the daughter of Carl Reedy and Myrtle Wright Reedy. Maybelle lived a long and full life marked by hard work, devotion to family and a love for the simple joys in life. She retired in 1995 from Du-Co Ceramics, where she dedicated many years of service.
In her retirement, Maybelle found happiness in baking, shopping and keeping an immaculate home...a true reflection of the pride she took in all she did. She was known for her spotless home, delicious treats and her joy in finding just the right item during a shopping trip.
Maybelle will be remembered for her warmth, her work ethic and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her presences will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Maybelle is survived by two sons, Melvin "Sonny" (Tammy) Hassler of Butler and Rick Hassler of Butler, with whom she shared her home, and one daughter, Beverly Nickles of Leechburg; her beloved grandchildren, Ross (April) Hassler, Ryan (Kiley) Hassler, Cameron Hassler, Charles Balog, Robin (Mark) Perfetta and Bradley Balog. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Wanda Freehling, Georgetta Schrecengost and Joan Cooper
Friends will be received on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, 11:00 am at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA, with Pastor Joel Benson officiating.
Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Maybelle's memory to the Butler County Humane Society or simply perform an act of kindness in her name.
