Michael P. Saunders, 97, of Saxonburg passed away on March 22, 2025 at his home
Born March 14, 1928 in Dorseyvillle, he was the son of Henry G. Saunders and Margaret Davis Saunders.
Mike served in the US Army during Korea. He was a life-long farmer, had worked in the coal mines, for the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad on the train crew, was a bus driver and worked as a security guard at the Butler Memorial Hospital. In his later years, he grew hydroponic tomatoes.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Herman.
Surviving are his sister, Eleanore J. Noah of Butler, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Henry G. Saunders and William T. Saunders, also two sisters, Margaret Allman and Lorraine Murray.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 2-6 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
A blessing service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, 10:30 am at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice.
