Nancy Jane (Rice) Guerriero, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Concordia of Fox Chapel in Cheswick, PA. Born in Utica, NY on February 9, 1939 she was the daughter of John and Florence (Derwin) Rice. She spent her early childhood in Booneville, NY until her family moved to Long Beach, CA in 1945 where her father was serving in the US Navy. Nancy was a 1957 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Los Angeles, CA going on to earn a degree in business from El Camino College. She married Vincent Guerriero on July 29, 1967. They made their home in Westchester, CA where they raised two daughters and shared 42 years of marriage.
Nancy spent her career in the Administrative/Purchasing field where she worked for Hughes Aircraft Co., the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, and for a US Department of Defense contractor.
She made the move from California to Cabot, PA in 2019 to be close to her family. These were some of the happiest years of her life. Nancy made a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of getting to know her. She had a witty, unique sense of humor. Nancy thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings and was very proud of her children and grandchildren’s milestones and accomplishments.
Nancy had many hobbies. She enjoyed reading, music, comic books, bingo and trips to Las Vegas with her late husband Vincent. She also loved cats, and all things Star Trek. Nancy was an early adopter of the computer/technology age and was excited to learn all she could about the latest programs and newest tech gadgets. Another fun fact about Nancy was that in her 60’s she became a member of the Screen Actors Guild in Hollywood. She was an extra and also had small roles in a few independent films.
Above all she held her Roman Catholic faith dear. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at Visitation Catholic Church in Los Angeles for many years.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Ann (John) English of Worthington, PA, granddaughters Kristen (Justin) Snow of Kittanning, PA, Caitlin Miles of Arvada, CO, grandsons Eric (Diane) English of Adrian, PA and Joseph Thompson of Kissimmee, FL, 5 great-grandchildren, Bailey Renae, Melia Ryanne, Avah Danielle, Jamison Eric and Navaeh Nichole and her brother, John (Marie) Rice of Lake Forest, CA.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vincent Guerriero, daughter Mary Rose Hills and sister Mary Ann (Raymond) Zazulak.
Our family would like to send sincere thanks to all who cared for Nancy both at Concordia of Cabot Personal Care, and at Concordia of Fox Chapel.
