Norma Petanovich Obituary

Norma Corrine (Schantz) Petanovich went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2024   Norma was born in Harmony on November 17, 1931 to the late Norman Schantz and Dolly Heberling Schantz. She graduated from Zelienople High School in 1949 and Pittsburgh Beauty School. She was a long time beautician, as they were called in her day. Norma never had an unkind word to say about anyone. She was kind, generous and never met a stranger. She had a love for roosters and chickens, having quite a collection. Her family loved to tease her asking if she had enough of them.

She was married to Edward J. Petanovich on October 27, 1953, 6 months after meeting on a blind date. They were married for 47 years until his death on November 29th , 2000. 

She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, John, Fred, Beth, daughter in law JoAnn . She adored her grandchildren, Sarah, Krista, Jill, Eric and Lori, and step grandchildren, Sheri and Curt (deceased). Her great grandchildren, Ava, Elena, Julia, Mia, Cameron, Jayden, Gavin , Tyson, Fiona, Brooks and Beau . Step great grandchildren Kendra, Amber, Haley and Caitlin. Her nieces Nancy, Linda and nephew John.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth, Sarah (Sally) and brother Lester, and daughter in law Barb.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Norma's honor to the Harmony Museum 218 Mercer St, Harmony, PA 16037.

Norma's family wishes to thank the caring staff at Concordia for their loving and gracious care towards Norma, especially in her final days.

Friends and family will be received Saturday June 8th from 10:00-11:00am at Fox Funeral Home inc. with a memorial service following at 11:00am.
