Rev. Laird L. Kroh, 96 of Cabot passed away on August 11, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
Born November 6, 1925, in Mt. Oliver, PA, he was the son of the late James H. Kroh and Edna Balsinger Kroh.
Laird was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School. He attended the Moody Bible Institute for a year and then joined the US Navy, serving in Guam. When he returned from the Pacific following his honorable discharge, he returned to the Moody Bible Institute and then went on to St. Paul Bible Institute (Crown College). Laird was a missionary in Israel from 15 years, then served in pastoral ministry in Clearfield County, PA, Jeanette, PA and Springville, NY. He retired from the pastoral care team at the Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
Laird enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening and going to the family cabin in Canada. He enjoyed studying Hebrew and reading his Hebrew Bible. He loved his family, his congregations, and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Surviving is his loving wife of 75 years, Dorothy Lacer Kroh of Cabot, his children, Laird L. (Jan) Kroh, Jr. of Cannonsburg, Rev. Stephen M. (Jayne) Kroh of Port Allegany, PA and Joanna (Don) Walborn of Mt. Dora, FL, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nephews, Dean and David Kroh, and niece, June Kershner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dean F. Kroh and nephew, Daniel G. Kroh.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg, PA.
Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 10-11 am at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Richard Jenks officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
