Robert E. Durand, 86, of Saxonburg passed away on March 3, 2024 at his home. He was truly loved by his family.
Born March 30, 1937, in Johnstown, he was the son of John W. Durand and Stella Bowser Durand.
Bob was a former member of Millerstown Methodist Church.
Bob served as a Sergeant in the US Army Reserve from 1955-1963. He had worked as a millwright at the US Steel Sintering plant in Saxonburg for 27 years, until its closing. He then worked as a carpenter for Fire Pro Restoration for 25 years. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, woodworking and he was a big fan of the Freeport Yellowjackets.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne M. Durand, whom he married in 1975, his children Robert A. (Pat) Durand of Mandeville, LA, Troy A. (Carol) Durand of Sarver, Todd W. (Mindy) Durand of Sarver, Douglas M. (Cory) Kamer of Saxonburg and Lynette L. Durand of Orlando, FL, one brother, Carl Durand of New Kensington, 9 grandchildren, Chris, Pam, Nathan, Kyle, Casey, Danika, Kiana, Jordon and Andersen and 9 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Shirley May Durand, four brothers, Tom, Roy, Andy, and Glenn Durand, three sisters, Marie, Garnett and Vera and one grandson, Derek J. Durand.
There will be no visitation or services.
