Ruth McEvoy Obituary

Ruth Irene McEvoy, 82, of Butler, passed away April 1, 2024 at Sunnyview Nursing Home.

Born January 31, 1942, in Cabot , PA, she was the daughter of Edgar Brake and Cora Neupert Brake.

She worked as a caretaker for 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Butler. Ruth was a dedicated mother to her four children. She enjoyed going to bingo and flea markets. She also loved spending time with her two grandsons, Hunter and Gavin.

Surviving are her children, James McEvoy Jr. of Lakeland, FL, Gary McEvoy of Butler, Lorna Szymanski of Kittanning, PA, John (Shonna ) McEvoy of Butler, 2 grandchildren, Hunter(Rachel Uncapher) Szymanski of Worthington, and Gavin (Jordin Noll) Szymanski, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James McEvoy, her parents, her brothers , Edgar Brake Jr. Fred Brake, Peter Brake , Harry Brake, Bill Brake, Bud Neupert. Sisters , Mary Schmeider and Jane Grube.

Services will be private.
