Shirley Eileen Bolte

 Shirley Eileen Bolte, 91 of Cabot passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, while residing at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot. 
 
 Born December 26, 1931, in Sarver, she was the daughter of the late William L. Zier and Mabel (Freehling) Zier.
 
 She was the beloved wife of George Bolte whom she married in 1952.

Shirley worked as a secretary at both Freeport and Knoch School Districts where she retired in 1994. 

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known for her quilting, cooking and her ever present smile. She loved to travel with her husband and attend any activities that involved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, George and her four children, Cathleen Thornhill, Keith (Karen) Bolte, Kim (Jack) Macurdy and Christine (Christopher) Mills, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leland, Roland and David Zier.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Concordia at Cabot Personal Care and Good Samaritan Hospice who cared for her. Their care was kind and compassionate and we are forever grateful to all staff members. 
 
 Visitation and services will be private. 
 
 Interment will be held in Butler Co. Memorial Park.
