Susanne Marie Lefever, 94 of Cabot, formerly of Erie, passed away on February 9, 2024 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries. The family thanks the staff on Bachman Hall at Lund Personal Care for their patient and considerate care for our Mom.
Born January 24, 1930 in Dodge City, KS, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Eastergard and Ester Jacobsen Eastergard.
Susanne was a member of Church of the Covenant in Erie where she was active with their choir. She had a heart for service. She worked part time in nursing facilities as a candy striper and was part of Stephens Ministries. She played her hand quite frequently in the card game of Bridge with dear friends over many years. She loved her friends and the many relationships, both old and new, she made over her lifetime both in Erie and Cabot. Susanne traveled extensively and loved making Chex mix and chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. Susanne's life was a life well lived.
Surviving are her loving children, Nancy (David) King of Cabot, John (Linda) McDermott of Knoxville, TN, and James (Christy Joy) Shiloh of Pasadena, MD, 3 step daughters; Susan (Don) Eoff, Carol (Bob) Ernhoffer and Wendy Seman, 11 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, John F. McDermott, her second husband, Howard Lefever, and her daughter, Mary Scott.
In accordance with Susanne's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
