Violet M. Dolmayer, 77, of Saxonburg passed away on August 3, 2026 at UPMC St. Margaret.
Born October 6, 1948 in O'Hara Twp., she was the daughter of Henry and Elsie (Ridley) Christ. Violet had worked for the Freeport Area School District as the elementary guidance counselor for 34 ½ yrs, retiring in 2006; She was awarded Educator of the Year in 1994. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Butler, where she generously devoted her time volunteering as a Deacon, staff for VBS, started the Community Care Closet in 2019, served in their session meetings and most importantly served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Violet was always willing to help others and her compassion for others was fierce. She had many interests over the years. After getting married, she obtained her private pilot’s license with her father. Her furthest flight was to Quebec Canada, where she spent many summers vacationing. She had a love for horses from the time she was a young girl. Eventually having horses once again she took up lessons and entered the show ring. She also spent her time as her kids’ number one fan attending her daughter’s dance recitals and swim meets, and her son’s baseball and basketball games. Violet’s biggest pride and joy were her kids and grandkids.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her children, Tiffany Dolmayer of Saxonburg and Jason Dolmayer of Saxonburg, PA; her granddaughter, Madison Zellhart, and grandson, Abel Oliver. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert T. "Tom" Dolmayer on April 30, 2015, one sister, Kathy Christ, and both her parents Henry and Elsie Christ.
Friends will be received on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4-7 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA. Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Carmen Shullo, Sr. officiating.
