Clair F. Atkinson, 89, of Cabot passed away on February 25, 2017 at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born February 23, 1928 in Jefferson Twp., he was the son of Floyd Atkinson and Frieda Frederick Atkinson.

Clair had worked as a truck driver for John W. Thrower Concrete. He was also a bus driver for Lenzner Tour and Travel and operated Mister Softee franchise in Butler County during the 1960s. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department and the former chief of the Saxonburg VFD Fire Police. He enjoyed hunting, traveling and collecting antiques.

Surviving are his son, Dennis Atkinson of Pittsburgh, his daughter, Donna Atkinson of Butler, 2 grandsons, Michael (Eowyn) Atkinson of Highland, NY and Jonathan Atkinson of Pittsburgh and his brother, Archie Atkinson of Lower Burrell.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris Atkinson on July 8, 2016.

Friends will be received onTuesday, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.

Services will follow on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, 8:00 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA, with Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery.
